Sassyqarla.com scooped a very interesting report about our oh so favorite Facebook. As an application received some pressure over Facebook because of it's concept.
A Burger King application made a big fuss over the social network website after it's concept of dump 10 friends in exchange with a Whopper Burger, which is a product of Burger King. An application that can be placed on your profile that will verify the "dumping" process. No wonder I lost 2 friends! Haha!
Before the Whopper Sacrifice Campaign was halted, 233,906 friends were "sacrificed" by Facebook users more interested in relationships with the global fast-food chain's specialty hamburgers, according to Burger King. - said the report by AFP website.
"While Facebook was a great sport, they did ask for changes that would have resulted in a different approach to our application," a Burger King spokesperson said. "Ultimately, based on philosophical differences, we decided to conclude the campaign." - the report added.
"We encourage creativity from developers and companies using Facebook Platform, but we also must ensure that applications meet users' expectations," - said the spokesperson of Facebook.
Burgers instead of Friends? Nuh-uh!
