Quezon City, Philippines - GMA Network finally issues their official statement in connection with the sudden decision of People's champ Manny Pacquiao on the rights of airing his fights in favor of ABS-CBN. GMA will be affected with the sudden shift knowing that GMA Network's main rival ABS-CBN now has the rights to air Pacquiao's ring fights that includes the much anticipated, Pacquiao-Hatton bout on May 2, 2009.
"GMA Network is very dissapointed with the reported decision of Manny Pacquiao to transfer from Solar Sports to ABS-CBN the rights to broadcast his fight with Ricky Hatton on May 2, 2009 and his other fights." - from GMA Network's Official Statement
We also received a report that Solar Sports are now airing their own official statement regarding Pacquiao's move in all of their cable channels like Solar Sports, ETC, etc. Pacquiao was interviewed by ABS-CBN and was asked to give his side on the said controversy. "Hindi ako apektado" says Pacquiao.
