Manila, Philippines - After the last data of AGB Nielsen for the Mega Manila television ratings covering March 10, 2009 to 12, 2009 was released, we can say that GMA Network's Primetime shows are on a big losing streak, or should we say, their primetime series are in BIG danger!
We all know that GMA Network dominated the Mega Manila ratings for years. And for the first time after years of staying in modest spot, ABS-CBN Primetime shows managed to get the top spot courtesy of Tayong Dalawa. March 11, 2009 when Tayong Dalawa recorded a 32% ratings, followed by another ABS-CBN series, Betty La Fea with 29.1%. Funny thing was, even if Robin Padilla's Totoy Bato was placed in an early time slot, they are still losing and with an unexpected 1-3 average, can you imagine if Totoy Bato was placed on later slot? And we say Kudos to the Taiwanese drama, Fated to Love You. Even if GMA Network placed the show at the back end of their Telebabad, Joe Chen and Ethan Ruan still managed to stumble down Showbiz News Ngayon of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino.
On the bright side for some Kapuso shows, they are still ahead in some aspects. GMA Network still leads the daytime race following the high ratings of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal's new series, "Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?"
If GMA 7 is losing the ratings game in Mega Manila, what will happen to the station? A little suggestion, why not swap the afternoon shows with the Primetime shows? Laugh out loud!
