Manila, Philippines - The Philippines is indeed becoming a 'concert haven' for American singers as another top performer and certified Platinum album holder will soon rock the pearl of Asia. John Legend is set for a concert here in Manila on March 26, 2009. The guy from Springfield, Ohio with his sexy-licious appeal in Piano, was known for his good ol' lullaby songs Ordinary People, Everybody Knows and his latest song, Greenlight.
His worldwide popularity started when his debut studio album, the multiplatinum-selling Get Lifted, was released in late 2004, and features collaborations with rapper and producer Kanye West as well as Snoop Dogg. Get Lifted produced two singles: "Used to Love U" (US top 100, UK top 30) and "Ordinary People" (US and UK top 30).
But his "sound" started to change 'a little' [which is good] after the release of his 'Evolver' album with the carrier single, Greenlight. "Gimme the Greenlight..." as he sang it, managed to win the 'hearts' of the radio charts here in the Philippines. This will be his first time to perform in Manila, Legend sounded enthusiastic on his interview from Inquirer: “I know the crowd will be great and we’ll have a fantastic time. My band is exceptional and we put on an energetic show that mixes all three albums and a few covers in a seamless way. I think the people in Manila will be very pleased.”
