New York - E Online reported that the makers of the Oscar sweeper Slumdog Millionaire donated nearly $750,000 to plan, a Mumbai, India children's charity that aims to educate the destitute kids living in the metropolis' slums.
"Having benefited so much from the hospitality of the people of Mumbai it is only right that some of the success of the movie be ploughed back into the city in areas where it is needed most," director Danny Boyle said in a statement, according to E.
Before the glam of Slumdog on the Oscars started, some critics says that Slumdog prod team were exploiting the young less-fortunate cast members from India. Now, donating on the charity is like the prod team's answer to critics.
