The nominees for the upcoming Empire Awards have been announced - and the best actor category is the most interesting (for the 'Twilight' fans). Robert Pattinson - the 23 year-old British actor who plays the role of Edward Cullen in the popular flick franchise - is one of the nominees for the best actor category. Rob will compete with 'Avatar' hottie Sam Worthington and 'Sherlock Holmes' veteran actor Robert Downey Jr. Can Rob's 'supporting' role in 'New Moon' give him another acting nod?

Another 'Twilight' star is also nominated - Anna Kendrick is one of the nominees for the best actress category for her performance in the movie 'Up in the Air'. Robert's girlfriend Kristen Stewart was surprisingly left out of the race (booo). The Empire Awards will take place in London, United Kingdom on March 28, 2010 and voting ends on March 10.
