In related news, MTV UK is reporting that the cartoon group Gorillaz turned down Katy Perry's request for a guest spot on their new album Plastic Beach - according to a member of the group named Murdoc. In his interview with BBC 6Music, he blamed Katy Perry's boyfriend Russell Brand for the collaboration never happening.

Murdoc said:  "Katy Perry - she's been after a guest spot for ages and I tried to turn her down. No, I couldn't work with the woman while she's got Russell Brand all over her."
