Supermodel Naomi has opened up to Oprah Winfrey, fearing for her family's safety which has been sparked by allegations of a 'Blood Diamond' she had received from a former Liberian dictator, Charles Taylor.
This has lead to Campbell refusing to cooperate with prosecutors in the court trial of the former president for charges of war crimes against humanity.
If you recall, the supermodel had stormed out of an interview because of these widespread rumors.
According to prosecutors, The dictator of Liberia had given Campbell a blood diamond, a kind of precious gem that Taylor is accused of utilizing for purchasing arms for neighboring rebel groups in Sierra Leone. The rebels had terrorized civilians and responsible for the killings of tens of thousands.
Campbell had shared to Oprah and millions of viewers during an episode regarding her ordeal. 'I don't want to be involved in this man's case, he has done some terrible thing and i don't want to put my family in danger,' the supermodel confesses.
Oprah allowed a certain flashback of Cambell's alleged meeting with the Liberian dictator in South Africa back in 1997, where actress Mia Farrow was present and former South African president Nelson Mandela in one dinner event.
According to Farrow, Campbell had disclosed next morning that Taylor had sent some of his men to her room to surprise her with a precious gift. A large uncut diamond.
