Legendary Director Ridley Scott will have to take a rain check at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday due to a bad knee.
Scott, whose masterpieces include 'Gladiator' and 'Body of Lies' to name a few, will be missing the premiere night of 'Robin Hood' at the Cannes Festival come Wednesday, as he is recuperating from a knee surgery.
In his absence, Universal will be assigning a major delegation to support the film, including producer Brian Gazer and the major cast, namely Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac and Max Von Sydow.
Scott, who underwent knee replacement surgery, was hoping for a fast recovery, as he mentions in a statement, yet things were going at a turtle's pace and doctors gave strict orders for him not to go.
The film, will make its global debut next wekend.
