Quezon City, Philippines - ABS-CBN issues their official statement regarding Manny Pacquiao's decision to revoke his previous plan in favor of ABS-CBN, Pacquiao decided to honor his contract in Solar Sports. Here are the excerpts of ABS-CBN's official statement aired yesterday on TV Patrol Saturday edition,
"Nilapitan ni Manny Pacquiao ang ABS-CBN para maging Media Partner niya sa pagpapalabas ng mga susunod niyang laban."
"Nagpapasalamat kami sa kanyang tiwala sa ABS-CBN sa ginawa niyang hakbang. Pumirma siya ng kontrata sa amin pero hindi kami magiging hadlang sakaling magbago ang kanyang isip. Iginagalang namin ito. Hangad namin ang makakabuti sa kanya, at kami ay maghihintay sa kanyang magiging pahayag."
After the 2-hour closed door meeting between Pacquiao, Solar and GMA 7 in Los Angeles, California yesterday, Pacquiao decided to honor his contract with Solar Sports. "Manny and MP Promotions have agreed to honor the Television Rights Agreement, and fully comply with the Terms and Conditions therein. We are now happy that now he can concentrate on preparing for his fight with Ricky Hatton on May 3 to be shown in GMA 7 and Solar Sports." says Jude Torcuato, Spokesman of Solar Sports.
