The couple parted ways barely a month after the Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera reunion concert. Jomari and Pops' relationship lasted for three years. A lot of questions are raised if what could have caused the sudden break-up. Jomari Yllana gave his official statement regarding the issue. On Philippine Entertainment Portal's report, Jomari was quoted, "First time itong nangyari sa amin. Yung una, cool off lang. Sandali lang yon, nagkaayos ulit kami. Pero ito kasi may usapan na".
On Ricky Lo's column in Philippine Star last Tuesday, Jomari Yllana gave his side of the story and the break-up was officially confirmed "We broke up nicely, naghiwalay kami ng maayos. After we decided to break up, we even talked for a while. Pero wala na talaga." Ricky Lo also made a separate interview for Pops Fernandez. The concert queen gave her side and reaction, saying that she's in shock after the break up. "I was shocked, I didn't expect it. I didn't see it coming. Maybe it was due to pressures before, during and after the concert. I don't know. I'm clueless." she said. Lo asked Pops if the decision was mutual, Pops decided not to speak about it. But according to Ricky Lo's reliable source, it was Jomari Yllana who initiated the split up.
A lot of speculations are spreading that "third party" was the reason for the sudden breakup. But according to Anjo Yllana, brother of Jomari, "Wala naman akong nababalitaan, tsaka nagkukwento naman sakin un (Jomari) kung meron siyang, girlaloo. hehehe." Anjo explained. "Pero wala, wala. Pati sa mga ibang kapatid ko, tsismoso yung mga kapatid ko eh. Pag merong ano si Jomari, magkukwento yun eh, magsusumbong." he added.

"It's not really about money. Wala akong problema sa pera. Maraming dahilan and money is not one of them." Jomari explained.
