Quezon City, Philippines - Wowowee host Willie Revillame was interviewed by SNN in connection with the Yes! report that he earns an accumulative amout of 1 Million pesos... a day! Oh my Gosh! Is this for real? And the magazine hailed him as the Most Powerful Showbiz Personality for 2009, followed by Kris Aquino, John Lloyd Cruz, Robin Padilla and Marian Rivera.
"Nakakagulat, kasi hindi ko naman alam na may ganyan eh. So, maraming nagsabi sa akin tapos pinakita sa akin yung magazine. Yun nga, nabasa ko kahapon. And then, hindi ko alam na may litrato pala akong ganun." says Willie Revillame. The list was based on the research of Yes, after they made a comparison on actors/actresses income, ratings of show, and overall personality for the last 14 months. "Powerful in the sense of what? Wala akong power eh! Ang power lang na binibigay mo siguro dito eh yung happiness. Happiness to the people not just in the Philippines, but abroad. I think that's the power that I have." says Willie. We noticed that Papi was a bit irked with the Yes! list, after we heard him saying the line, "In the sense of what?"
We also feel that this "Powerful list" is a bit overrated and very unethical. Hello people? We are in a Financial crisis right now, and displaying this kind of stupidity in front of jobless Filipinos just to get some attention and to sell a copy of your magazine is a big disgrace for our country! Just an opinion.
