Hollywood - It's official, Chace Crawford will play the role of Ren McCormack in the much anticipated remake of Footloose, People.com reports. The "Gossip Girl" star auditioned for the said role when Zac Efron turned down the offer, and Chace is now ready to kick those Sunday's shoes!
Why did Zac turned down the offer? Well, according to his EW interview, he didn't want to be type-cast as the musical guy and was searching instead for "the unknown." Maybe Zac doesn't want to be called the "musical king", harhar!
Anyway, it was also reported that "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere auditioned for the female lead role, and the honchos are not yet confirming if Hayden will also "kick those Sunday's shoes". Congratulations Chace Crawford!
