Jay Leno finale
New York - Jay Leno said bye-bye to the "Tonight Show" on Friday after 17 years of topping the ratings game. Leno thanked "all the people who made it possible."

Walking out on stage to a minute-length standing ovation from the audience -- which consisted of fans who had camped out for tickets, as well as Leno's wife Mavis, among others. Leno welcomed the audience "to the exciting season finale of the 'Tonight Show.'" After saying bab-boo to "Tonight Show" he joked, he planned to "move to a secluded spot where no one can find me: NBC primetime."

Making his big primetime comeback this September, Leno said: "We're not really leaving," the crown smiled then cheered.
