California - HSM alum Vanessa Hudgens and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester are the "popcorn award" presenters of the upcoming MTV Movie Awards 2009. Joining them are Cameron Diaz, Will Ferrel, Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Jonah Hill and Lil Wayne. Hosting the live event is the SNL host and comedian Andy Samberg.
Aside from presenting an award, Vanessa Hudgens is also nominated for the Breakthrough performance (Female category) with co-nominees Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Freida Pinto, Kat Dennings and Amanda Seyfried.
Vampire flick "Twilight" and Oscar sweeper "Slumdog Millionaire" grabbed most of the nominations. Twilight raked in a total of seven nominations while Slumdog Millionaire follows closely behind with six. Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel, Twilight's Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will compete in the Breakthrough category (Male), while Kristen Stewart is nominated for the Best Female performance.
