California - Reigning American Idol winner Kris Allen walked out to a smattering of boos from the Staples Center crowd before he performed the national anthem before Game 2 of NBA Finals on Sunday, Orlando Sentinel reports.

The 23 year-old winner of Fox Reality show (turning 24 this coming 21st) was criticized by fans, and not-so-fans of the Fox reality show after his surprise win or what they call 'em "big upset". Intrigues like AT&T and missing dial tones are some of the issues surfaced against Mr. Allen after beating the "all-time" favorite Adam Lambert. In fairness, Orlando Sentinel added that by the time Allen's rendition had ended, he received an ovation.

Other blog site sources added that a group of Lakers fans from San Diego, CA started the "booing", San Diego is the hometown of Adam Lambert. Obviously, some California pipz feel that Idol runner-up Adam Lambert should have won the popular singing show.

In related news, Adam Lambert won the "Young Hollywood Artist of the Year" award of the recently concluded 11th Young Hollywood awards. Idol judge Kara DioGuardi presented the award. In his Hollyscoop exclusive intervew, Adam says he's not upset of Kara DioGuardi revealing that he's gay on "The View". "No I mean their asking the same questions everyone else is asking and Kara was just being honest, she’s a good friend of mine now that we’ve recorded together and I don’t think she did anything wrong."
