Photo Credit and Report: Shinn/Fame PicturesCalifornia - "The Ugly Truth" star Katherine Heigl took her mom, Nancy, and her husband Josh Kelley for what was supposed to be a quiet and private lunch at the Il Piccolino Italian restaurant on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills Saturday afternoon. Across the street, at the Petrossian Paris restaurant, another celebrity, former US First Lady Nancy Reagan, was having lunch. Originally, there were only four photographers who followed Heigl from her house to Beverly Hills. But because Mrs. Reagan was at the Petrossian, there were already several photographers milling around the area waiting for Mrs. Reagan to leave.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the photographers, Heigl and company, left Il Piccolino and the three of them walked into Between The Sheets, a store a few doors down the street. While Heigl was inside the store, Mrs. Reagan came out, got into a waiting car and left. Just as Mrs. Reagan left, Heigl and company came out catching the photographers by surprise (subsequently several photographers called their photographer friends and their friends called their pap friends and so forth) and eventually it caused a paparazzi frenzy of about three dozen photographers as Heigl continued her shopping spree on Robertson Blvd., also known as "paparazzi alley".
