Known for his notable roles such as the unseen boss who gives assignments to three young hot detectives in "Charlie's Angels" and an oil tycoon in the persona of Blake Carrington in TV'S most succesful soaps of the 80's, Dynasty, the silvery haired actor with that suave voice has died Thursday at his Santa Ynez home. He was 92.
John Forsythe had heart bypass surgery in 1979 and previously hospitalized in 2006 for colon cancer. Eventually, he would succumb to complications of pneumonia, publicist Harlan Boll quoted.
Forsythe had dropped out of college as a junior and pursued roles in radio soaps before progressing to film. He had several movies in the 1950s but from the late 60's up, his focus would be on TV.
Forsythe's wife Julie of 50 years died in 1994. He remarried in 2002, Nicole Carter, with whom he has had a son and two daughters. He also has six gandchildren and five great grandchildren to date.
