Manny Pacquiao, World's pound for pound numero uno, gears up for his latest and biggest match yet - in the political arena.

The current Welterweight king and world chammpion in seven different weight divisions, prepares himself for the May 10 Philippine elections in the province of Sarangani, an attempt at the congressional seat.

The Filipino pride boasts of an outstanding boxing record of 51 wins, 38 KO's, 3 losses and 2 draws, compared to his political record of 0-1, which that brief stint back in 2007 landed the boxer his first defeat in the hands of Darlene Antonio-Custodio.

Yet the tough-as-nails 'Pacman' isn't known to back down from any battle, whether this be outside the ring, and is gathering up his arsenal for the big political event. Pacquiao expressed his intense desire to serve his country, believing that he can somehow eliminate the already growing curruption.

"I want them to believe and trust me," the people's champ spoke passionately.

Pacquiao, 31, also highlighted the need for better education, health care and medical assistance, explaining that the region lacked a proper hospital to call it's own.

So while huge boxing enthusiasts anticipates the larger than life, ultimate showdown between the Pacman and 'Pretty Boy' trash-talking Floyd Mayweather Jr, they would have to wait after the May 10 elections reveals its verdict. That would either hinder fight negotiations or serve as a go signal. We could never tell.

What we do know is that the pound for pound champ represents raw courage, and is the inspiration of millions of Filipinos.
