Come Memorial Day, VH1 will air a half-hour special on Bret Michaels, but has delayed the premiere of docu-series 'Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It' due to the Poison frontman's health issues just recently.

According to Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production, the production on the series has been given a temporary red light, giving emphasis to Bret's health as top priority.

"Production will resume when it is cleared by his doctors," says Olde.

The reality show, which is scheduled to make its debut this coming fall, assures viewers an inside look into the rocker's home life, away from the demands of shootings, partying and rocking, featuring his bonding moments with daughters Raine and Jorja, who call him 'Poppa Rocka.'

The 30-minute special on May 31, will serve as an 'appetizer' to fans until the actual launch of Michaels' docu-series.

This is the rockstar's grand comeback since being hospitalized after suffering from a brain hemorrhage.

I wish I had preserved that Poison cassette tape I owned back then. Don't ya'll be guessing my age, though.
