Peter Lopez, 60, was found dead at his home apparently of suicide causes.
Lopez, a successful entertainment attorney, and was married to actress Catherine Bach of 80's 'Dukes of Hazzard' fame, was found lifeless in his Encino Hills home with a gunshot wound, coroners officials had revealed.
According to chief Craig Harvey, Peter Lopez had died of a gunshot wound at his home.
Coroner officials also say that a neighbor had heard gunshots and someone at the home had found the attorney's body.
Lopez happened to be the music attorney for the late king of pop, Michael Jackson for several years, as revealed by Alfred Newman, spokesman for the firm Kleinberg Lopez Lange Cuddy & Klein, in which Lopez was a co-founder of.
The attorney's services were also acquired by such big names as Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli and the Eagles. He's worked alongside singers, record producers and songwriters and was a co-producer of the film biopic 'Selena', as portrayed by latina star Jennifer Lopez.
Close friends and family are grieving and in deep sorrow over the loss, most especially wife Catherine Bach and her two daughters, says Bach's publicist, Steve Rohr.
Michael Jackson's former general manager Raymone Bain, was responsible for hiring Lopez back in 2006 as the king of pop's entertainment attorney. According to Bain, she had known Peter for a span of 20 years and couldn't think of a nicer individual.
"I'm just so shocked," she says.
