James McAvoy As Young Professor X In X-Men Prequel!

James McAvoy is set to suit up as X-Men's premiere frontman , Professor X.

The British talent, who previously starred in the film, 'The Last Station,' will portray a young Charles Xavier, a.k.a. Professor X, a role which belonged to veteran actor Patrick Stewart in past series.

Word leaked from Fox that 'X-Men: First Class' will mark the epic beginning of the popular mutant franchise.

Even prior to Charles Xavier and current foe Erik Lensherr assumed their resective aliases as Professor X and Magneto, they were youngsters getting a feel of their incredible powers for the very first time. Before the two became rivals, they were the closest of friends who worked together, along with other mutants in order to ut a stop to the greatest threat the world has ever known. 

So somewhere along this journey, conflicts sparked between the former allies, and thus began the clash between Professor X's X-Men and Magneto's 'Brotherhood.'

While Patrick Stewart's Professor X was a skin-headed wheelchair-bound telepath, Fox has yet to confirm whether actor McAvoy will sport the same bald look. The studio is also speeding up on production, with director Matthew Vaughn's services acquired to bring life to latest installment of the mutant saga. The movie will make its global debut in June 3, 2011.

Spider-Man Reboot Lead Role Down To Five Potentials!

Marvel's charismatic web-crawling hero is now down to 5 candidates in the new Spider-Man flick.

In the latest installment of one of Marvel's most celebrated colorful heroes, Director Marc Webb has plucked out his choices of the popular web-slinger.

Web, who was responsible for '500 Days of Summer' has had talks with the star of his 2009 romantic comedy, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Rumors also leaked that Josh Hutcherson, Percy Jackson and 'Olympians' star Logan Lerman are being considered as well to fit into the 'Spidey' suit.

According to The Hollywood Reorter's Heat Vision Blog, while Lerman is still in the running, four other young actors have been shortlisted by Webb and Columbia Pictures. These are: Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane and Andrew Garfield. These finalists complete the choice in filling in the shoes which was vacated by Tobey Maguire.

Bell starred in the lead role in 'Billy Elliot' while Dillane was known as the young Tom Riddle in 2009's 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.' The other two not-so popular actors, have worked with big directors. Garfield collaborated with Terry Gilliam in 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' and Ehrenreich with Francis Ford Coppola on 'Tetro.'

In the lastest installment, a reboot of the popular franchise, all five hopefuls would surely suit the younger incarnation of Peter Parker. Screenwriter Alvin Sargent, was tasked with writing the script for the movie exected t be shot in 3-D. Sources say that the look of the film will bear some resemblance to Brian Bendi's 'Ultimate Spider-Man' comics, wherein Peter Parker's age range would be from 17-27.

There are talks that filming of the movie will commence by the end of this year.

Can't wait for all of this to push through, being a huge Marvel fanatic.
