Billy Ray is such a 'protective' father, he loves his daughter a lot!

Billy Ray Cyrus has stood up for his daughter Miley Cyrus concerning the widespread lap dance video controversy with director Adam Shankman at the wrap party for 'The Last Song.'

According to Billy Ray, 48, who shared with TMZ.com that "it's what people her age do, she was just having fun," says of his daughter when he was grinding against the openly gay director.

Other folks would be outraged and prone to heart attacks over such a behavior, but not the Hanna Montana star's father who's given his daughter several 'thumbs up' signs in the past.

Miley even revealed on MTV News on a Monday that her dad loves her racy 'Can't be Tamed' video, in which the young star wears skimpy corsets while displaying her sexy dancing moves with both girls and boys.

And at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009, when Miley strutted her pole dancing wares, Billy Ray says with enthusiasm, "I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it's important."

That's not all. 

A year before that, Billy Ray and Miley's mom Tish, graced the event of the 2008 Vanity Fair Shoot in which the young pop sensation posed topless with just a satin sheet wrapped under her.

Miley, put out the weed before your bedtime. Miley, We don't care if it's past your curfew, but bring home the car in one piece. Kidding aside, who wouldn't want parents like hers?
