The 17-year-old teen popstar, who's been criticized by many who say that she's trying to grow old too fast, just tries to shake it off, and focus on the good stuff. Besides, the 'Hannah Montana' sensation doesn't actually read the negative things about her.
"I try to think of really just the positive things. My family, we're only allowed to have 10 channels basically at our house, because we don't want to see any of that stuff," the 'Can't be Tamed' star reveals to MTV News on Friday.
The controversial youngster couldn't have said it better, as she deliberately tries to be ignorant of any gossip negative talk about her. She says that its the job of her team to make sure that such 'bullcrap' aren't talked about.
And what's her stand on the criticism that work has become too mature for her fanbase, especially kids?
"My record isn't the bullcrap that people write about me. My record is what I want to say and what I think is important," she responds.
In spite of the not-so-positive publicity plaguing her, Miley's parents remain supportive of their daughter's ambitions, and are very proud of her. Exactly, sweetie. Remember that lap-dancing incident? Daddy Billy Ray simply took it in stride and defended her, that she was just having fun.
Good on you Miley. Okay, carry on with the recitation. I must not...
