Shawn Johnson's Stalker Found Guilty!
Olympic gold medalist and "Dancing with the Stars" champ Shawn Johnson can now set cast her fears aside. Her alleged stalker from Florida has been found guilty.
The culprit, 36-year-old Robert O'Ryan, was arrested on March 23 of last year, after he drove from Florida and leaped over a fence at the television studio where the star was busy preparing for an episode of "Dancing with the Stars."
It was today where LA Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor had handed down the verdict after four days of testimony and evidence. O'Ryan was found guilty of felony stalking and burglary charges and two misdemeanor concealed weapons violations.
After a thorough search conducted by officials on O'Ryan's car, they discovered two loaded guns, a wooden club, a duct tape, and poetry handwritten by the accused to the star Olympian. The note read in one passage: "No matter what happens, I will always love you."
O'Ryan could possibly get a sentence of close to six years if the required mental evaluation proves that his is sane, and possibly the rest of his existence inside a mental institution if he is found insane.
In a court face-off, 18-year-old Johnson had said when asked if she knew her stalker and how she felt about the poetry, that she was frightened by the ordeal and that O'Ryan was a complete stranger to her. The obsession made the star really scared and even considered quitting "Dancing with the Stars" and going home to Iowa.
"I heard he'd said he was coming to L.A. to marry me, that I was the mother of his unborn children," says Johnson.
This has prompted Johnson's parents to alter their daughter's normal routine , like canceling all personal appearances, changing hotels and vehicles. But she would still be given the green light to continue with "Dancing with the Stars."
