Tiger Woods: mistresses to keep distance from kids!
Article by: Rumer Certeza

Keep those filthy claws away from my babies! Motherly instincts, it's a given. And that's exactly one of Elin Nordegren's demands in this divorce deal that could get more ugly. Right, Tiger Woods?

Tiger's angels. Yup, a trio of tongue-wagging treats served on a platter. Jaimee Grubbs, Joshlyn James and Rachel Uchitel are only the top three damsels in the golfer's infinite list of 'collectibles.' Can you just imagine if Tiger had to introduce them all to his kids? That would take ages!

But not if estranged spouse Elin could help it. It has been stipulated in the divorce deal that Tiger is banned from letting any of those beauties near his children, namely, 3-year-old daughter Sam and son Charlie, one. Nope, not even within one hundred feet. Not unless the casanova golfer has married any one of them. Then, that would be an entirely different story.

It has also been agreed upon that Elin is forbidden from speaking publicly about her ex hubby's alleged affairs with his 'other women' including the top three just mentioned. It's a complete hush-hush matter. But silence does come with a price. And it sure ain't peanuts!

The 34-year-old athlete is reported to be worth $1 billion, which also means a whopping fortune for his former spouse, whose legal team have dug up real deep for those goodies, which includes all sorts of assets just lying around for grabs. So, simple math. You add all this up and it equals a padlock. A padlock on Mrs. Woods lips.

According to Elin's close pal, papers have been signed and the Swedish beaut is prepared to file for divorce at Orlando County Court, and expects a triumph in the next 7 days or so. Elin is also granted sole physical custody of their kids but will split legal custody. That means that Tiger still has a say when it comes to decisions concerning their future.

Would Tiger still be worth that much after the divorce? And his career isn't actually on a roll. Just close your eyes and it'll all be over, buddy. Your bank account that is!

Americans are getting bigger and bigger every year.
Article by: Dr Zoe Arugay

Fattest state? That's harsh!
Photo: Corbis

This, despite attempts to educate Americans on the benefits of eating healthy.

In recent reports, obesity rate is up by 25% in 28 states. Eight states have rates above 30% even! And the rate of childhood obesity is increasing even more. The survey also showed that parents of obese children believe that their kids were healthy. (Being overly-cuddly isn't cute and it isn't healthy!)

Moreover, 10 of the 11 states with obesity numbers were from the south, and Mississippi leads the south for 6 years running. Wake-up call - again!

The obesity rate was higher in black and hispanic Americans that in whites. They also found out that income was indirectly proportionally to weight - that is, the less money you make, the more pounds they more likely have put in.

On the other hand, the Northeastern and Western states have the lowest obesity rates.

Although treating obesity is a community effort, one should always remember that weight loss starts in your mind. Build that determination and discipline, then follow your regimen strictly and consistently.

Biking daily may reduce weight gain in women!
Article by: Dr Zoe Arugay

Ladies, Usher loves biking!

Ever thought of going on a strict diet regimen and saying goodbye to mouthwatering goodies? No worries, ladies, all you need is a pair of wheels!

A new study has surfaced that biking for as little as five minutes a day can help women reduce weight gain as they enter middle age, especially if the subjects are overweight, to start with.

According to the new found study, which has been conducted on more than 18,000 premenopausal women ranging from ages 25 and 42, for 16 years has gained an average of 20.5 pounds.

Over the course of the study, women who spent around 5 minutes a day biking had a weight gain of 1.5 fewer pounds than those who didn't engage in the said activity, researchers have discovered. And women who increased their daily biking by 30 minutes kept even more weight off, and gained around 3.5 lesser pounds compared to those whose biking habits remained the same.

Dr. Anne Lusk, the lead author of the study and a research fellow in nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, says, "Bicycling is an answer to weight control. Walking is not necessarily an answer unless the person is walking briskly."

Further studies reveal that women who were overweight or obese at the beginning had better results than normal weight women who increased their biking for 30 minutes.

Current guidelines suggest that adults get at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise on most days of the week, where studies show that women are well below the mark.

Studies also explain that inactivity is not the primary cause of rapid weight gain but the physical surroundings as well.

For instance, while most cities have embraced walking and biking by adding sidewalks and bike lanes, in the U.S., emphasis has been mainly on the walking environment.

According to gathered data, nine percent of commuters in the U.S. walk to work and 0.5 percent bike. Wherein contrary to the Netherlands where the roads are bike-friendly, 27 percent bike compared to 22 percent who walk to work.

Experts suggest that infrastructure or facilities should be provided to encourage more people to bike.

Larry shocked many people with his recent confirmation of repots that he will be leaving his hosting gig on CNN after 25 years on air with them. Now the big question is who will be taking over the TV host icons job at CNN?

CNN's broadcasting legend Larry King, will call it quits after more than 2 decades and 50,000 interviews.

The larger- han-life TV interviewer, made an announcement on his Twitter account that he plans to give up hosting his prime time CNN show sometime this year, tobe able to spend quality time with his wife and kids.

The 76-year-old broadcaster recalls his experience 25 years ago on CNN for the first broadcast of Larry King Live, when he sat across a table from New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Decades later, would be an entirely different scenario for the news icon, revealing to the CNN family that he plans to quit the popular evening show which had countless viewers glued to their seats throughout its running.

King, with his trademark suspenders and large glasses, and whose show recently made the Guiness Book of World Rcords for longest running show with the same host in the same time slot, feels a sense of freedom that comes with his decision. The CNN legend plans to expand and explore other opportunities, which he wasn't able to do.

The decision was sparked by months of media speculation about his future, with a surprising decline in his ratings. His show which once held on to top spot, would come in fourth among other talk shows during the 9 p.m. time slot.

Yet despite his grand exit, King would still be connected with CNN, and will continue to contribute with periodic specials, according to Jon Klein, president of CNNUS.

And when asked who would be a potential replacement, King cited 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest, who he describes as 'curious, interesting and likable.'

The news icon has interviewed them all, ranging from various celebrities to politicians. Among those big names were, Marlon Brando, Paul McCartney, Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Luther King Jr., Madonna and L. Ron Hubbard. King reveals that Mandela was the most extraordinary person he has met.

Despite being tangled in a highly publicized scuffle with eigth wife Shawn Southwick-King leading to a divorce, the couple would soon reconcile.

Tom Johnson, who was previously CNN's chairman for more than a decade once said, "Only God failed to show up for a Larry King interview."

Sir, I salute you and give my two thumbs up, including toes. Good luck to your new endeavors!
