Many speculations were ciruclating in blogs and forums that the eight season of the number one reality show in USA, American Idol, will be revamped. On it's eight season on January 2009, the fans might see a lot of changes with the format of the show.

According to AccessHollywood.com, a fan site blog relayed a memo coming from Fox saying that the network plans to update the show.

Among the changes were less episodes on audition days, fewer bad singers and more aspirational singers. And the show will feature top 36, and will be narrowed to top 12.

Fox declined to comment on the issue.
