Friendster is now showing the recent activities of friends in your network. A big "Facebook" makeover for the premiere Social Utility site in the Philippines.
With the latest Friendster innovation, the registered user can now see the recent activities of his/her friend. It can be a new photo upload, a comment working one way or another, posted a bulletin, and even rating a photo. Its really "so-Facebook".
Sounds crazy, but after doing a lot research, I discovered that Friendster is losing a lot of traffic in the Philippines, while Facebook is now emerging and hitting higher web traffic, and as I write this article, the "FB traffic is increasing" fast. According to Alexa [Nielsen Ratings of Websites], the traffic history graph of Friendster goes downward [click to see], while Facebook traffic history graph goes upward [click to see]. Still, Friendster enjoys its number 2 rank in Philippines [next to Yahoo]. Speaking of Yahoo, Philippines still loves the "weird search results" of Yahoo, than Google, I don't know why.
Anyway, a lot of factors are to consider why Friendster suffers from a decrease Philippine traffic, and maybe that's because of unexplained "virus", and hacker friendly security of the said popular site.
