Los Angeles, California - Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson is returning to American Idol for the first time since her family tragedy. The Idol 3 alum, who lost her mother, brother, and nephew in a triple homicide last October 2008, will tape a special appearance on the FOX singing competition after tomorrow night’s live show.
FOX won’t confirm Jennifer’s appearance, but according to The New York Post, ticket vouchers for the show read: “….The second taping of Wednesday is the LIVE performance show with special performances by Jennifer Hudson and [Idol winner] Ruben Studdard.”
Jennifer is expected to sing a track from her Grammy-winning, self-titled debut album. The performance will be shown on an unspecified future show.
