ABC's popular TV sitcom about an aspiring journalist donning the glasses and braces, makes its larger than life exit. And possibly for good.

The show made its hugely successful premiere almost 4 years back in September 2006, raking in an impressive 16.32 million viewers on just its pilot episode.

'Ugly Betty,' based on the colombian telenovela entitled 'Yo Soy, Betty La Fea,' comprised of a uniquely hilarious cast with a well concocted script that touched the hearts of millions. The characters involved Betty,(played by America Ferrera) who was a mess fashion-wise, with the nerdy glasses and braces who had aspirations on becoming a journalist, yet ends up assistant to Editor-in-Chief Daniel Meade (played by Eric Marbius) of a high end fashion Magazine. Betty strives to excel in the fashion world besides enduring sonstant mockery from her colleagues.

Ugly Betty's farewell episode on Wednesday wrapped up the series well, and have impacted loyal followers to a great extent. It has taught an important message that anything is possible in life if you work hard and stick to your morals.

As the curtains close, Betty sure proved she ain't no ugly duckling. Anyway, new reports claim America will be working on a telenovela for MTV. Let's see if the said project will grab some attention.
