Katie Holmes's set to portray A former first lady in a TV series?
Holmes, who rose to fame with her own TV sitcom, huge hit Dawson's Creek, will portray US former first lady Jackie Kennedy in a TV mini-series about President Kennedy and events surrounding his family.
Greg Kinnear will hop into JFK's shoes in this upcoming drama, which marks the History Channel's first scripted series ever.
Meanwhile, Oscar winner and UK star Tom Wilkinson will portray Joe Kennedy, JFK's father. The series is scheduled to premiere sometime next year on the US cable channel.
The scenes of the famous clan will cover the early years of JFK's presidency until the year 1963, his assasination in Dallas, Texas.
Jackie Kennedy, who was considered a fashion icon and one of the world's most stylist women in her lifetime, later on married Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping mogul. she passed away due to cancer in 1994.
Holmes, who also appeared in the 2005 box office hit Batman begins, has been married to Tom Cruise since 2006. The couple also have a daughter named Suri.
