Former 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul will make a guest apperance on Simon Cowell's farewell night, the finale of this season.

According to People, former judge Paula Abdul will show up on 'American Idol' for a special 'send-off' to departing judge, Simon Cowell.

If the 'Straight up' former popstar does appear on finals night, it will be her first on 'Idol' since she left the show before season nine began. Popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres eventually took her place at the judges table.

Finalists Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze will showcase their arsenal on a grand two-night showdown at this season's finale to be aired this Tuesday and Wednesday, also marking the departure of the sharp-tongued, brutally honest yet most adored Brit.

Cowell is set to launch another reality contest of potential stars, patterned after the 'X Factor.' This U.S. version will make its debut in 2011.

The pioneers reunite. That would be worth watching.
