Lauer, 52, host of The Today Show and wife Annette Roque, 44, are the latest couple to join the never-ending trend of split ups. According to The National Enquirer, Lauer has departed from their New York City home he shares with his wife and their three children.
And this isn't the first time though. The couple have been living apart for over two months now, despite being married for more than a decade.
Everything was stemmed from Roque's suspicions towards her hubby's Vancouver trip where the latter covered February's Winter Olympics and opted to stay there even after filming, missing out on a valentines day celebration with her. Rumors surfaced that Lauer got too cozy with some female broadcasters there.
In 2006, the couple briefly seperated, when Roque was pregnant at that time with their third child. She had filed for a divorce after speculations of her hubby's womanizing frenzy, but later on withdrew the petition after only a month.
Lauer's ex-wife Nancy Alspaugh has expressed sadness, disclosing to National Enquirer as quoted, "I heard he and Annette are breaking up. I was not shocked but it was very sad."
