A video showing five young girls dancing to Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' sparks an outrage from concerned viewers.

The video, being featured on YouTube, reveals a group of young girls aged 8-9, dancing provocatively to the tune at a world dance competition in California. According to the concerned public eye, these kids were dressed in skimpy costumes, which mainly consists of red and black lingerie outfits showing a lot of skin.

The girls however, along with teachers and parents, defended their choice of attire and dance routine.

One example was one of the girls father, who remarked that the performance was completely normal, and that other kids are showcasing the same thing at dance competitions.

Yet, several viewers on YouTube seem to express a totally distinct opinion, lashing out their sentiments towards the video.

"Honestly, why such skimpy outfits? Why are they booty popping? It's not right. They shouldn't know what a booty pop is. Parents atre having their kids grow up too fast for just a competition," one viewer wrote.

To add to that, another viewer wrote, 'Everything about this performance is wrong! The song, the costumes, the dance moves! Whoever thought little girls in high thighs, and a two piece, dancing like Beyonce, has really bad judgement!

PIX 11 News had the opportunity to gather insights from Dr. Jodi Gold, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Weil Cornell-Medical Center.

"I don't blame the parents. This is a societal issue in that we're sending a message that sex sells and that's what wins competitions rather than their excellent athletcism, good dancing and creative choreography," Gold ellaborates.

She adds to the reality that basically everything can be shown on YouTube, and if parents refuse their own children to be viewed on YouTube then they should refrain them from doing such.
