Be cautious, parents out there, especially our favourite Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and the rest of the mommies and daddies of this industry. The way you raise your kids may have a crucial effect on latter stages, especially drinking habits.
Based on recent studies, results show that parenting methods somehow affects their children's drinking. To further elaborate on the matter, scientability.com suggests kids who are either strictly brought up or pampered are more likely to drink more than children who are raised well and showered with warmth.
This study was conducted by a group of scientists at the Brigham Young University study. While earlier research studies claimed that parents are are not the cause of children trying alcohol in their teen stages, these current findings show that after a few drinks, children do get influenced by the method of parenting.
According to physorg.com, the research study was conducted on around 5,000 adolescents with ages ranging from 12-19 years, who were surveyed about their drinking habit plus the kind of relationship they share with their parents. It has been discovered that parents who maintained that balance between accountability and warmth had less risk on their children developing heavy drinking habits.
So it's really important that parents create a healthy environment for their children and spend quality time with them to prevent destructive habits.
