Sir Paul McCartney Sings 'Michelle' For First Lady, Sweet!
Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney's timing was perfect at the White House when he dug out a special song from his massive collection of hits.
The 67-year-old English musician took the opportunity by performing the popular hit "Michelle", dedicated to first lady Michelle Obama.
And when he sang the words, "I love you, I love you, I love you," when serenading the first lady, the singer joked that he just might be the "first guy ever to be punched out by a president."
Yet the President was mindless of the remark, as he was busy swaying to the tune while Michelle sang along.
The performance was part of Obama's presentation to honor the former Beatle with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, awarded by the Library of Congress. It was indeed an unforgettable moment for Sir Paul.
And backing him up in the mini concert were big names and a-list musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Herbie Hancock, Jonas Brothers, Elvis Castello, Foo Fighters frontman David Grohl, and White Stripes singer and guitarist Jack White, pianist Lang Lang.
Sir Paul will continue to rock for years to come.
