According to producers, the 38-year-old 'Livin' La Vida Loca' star will portray Che, and will co-star with Argentine actress Elena Roger in the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic.
Previously, Martin had made an appearance in a revival of "Les Miserables." Says the musician, "I've never lost my love for the intimacy of the theatre."
The singer, who was once a member of the teen group "Menudo" in the 80's, recently came out of the closet and revealed his true sexuality. To this date, the star has sold more than 60 million albums.
