Shawn King overdosed on prescription pills in an attempted suicide. Found in the their household were multiple empty pill bottles of Compro, Prometrium, Clonazepam, Ambien, Klonopin, Subutex, Cymbalta and Lyrica. This is a combination of anti-seizure, anti-anxiety and anti-depressants, and one to treat narcotic addiction. Police reports say that the bottles of Ambien, Klonopin, and Clonazepam were empty, and that those prescriptions had been filled within 10 days.

Then again, the suicide note on the bed gives out a strong suspicion that overdosing was intentional. It even stated that she wished to be buried in Utah.

Mrs King was previously reported to have overdosed on painkillers in 2008. She cited chronic migraines, thus, the pain killers to cope with the severity of her condition. This year, she and King went through an on-and-off divorce proceedings.

Interestingly, suicidal tendency is listed as a precaution for taking Klonopin.

What is Klonopin?

Klonopin is a brand of Clonazepam, which belongs to a group of drugs known as benzodiazepines. These group of drugs are indicated for anxiety, epilepsy, and for detoxification.

Upon reviewing her list of medications, none of King's medications are know to have drug interactions with Klonopin. Larry King indeed put her through some intense emotional roller-coaster ride for her to take these meds and then overdose!

Klonopin is metabolized by the liver, hence, contraindicated in patients with liver disease. It is excreted through the urine. An overdose will manifest with hypersalivation, central nervous system effects such as depression, liver disorders, and blood disorders.
