But yes, come July 16, the 49-year-old heartthrob is called to testify in court against three suspects accused of using his name for a fashion label.
According to ANSA news agency, judge Pietro Caccialanza says that Clooney will testify as a civil plaintiff at the trial held at Milan, the Italian and business and fashion capital.
Definitely, the actor's star power will draw in a massive crowd so extra security has been ordered by the judge to prevent any interruptions during the trial. It also gives fans an opportunity to rub shoulders with the actor. Well, at least get a wee bit close.
As of now, names of the accused are yet to be released by ANSA, but this case has been linked to the April 2008 incident, wherein accusations of forgery, fraud and possession of stolen goods has been hurled at the trio, who at that time were organizing a fashion show in a Milan hotel.
The 'E.R.' star happens to be a regular visitor in Italy, where he owns a villa on Lake Como, north of Milan. Not to mention being romantically linked with Italian model and actress Elisabetta Canalis.
