James Gammon of 'Major League' fame passes away at 70!

Another major loss in Tinseltown.


Actor James Gammon, who was popularly recognized for his role in the flick 'Major League' as short-tempered coach Lou Brown, passed away at age 70.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the legend succumbed to complications from cancer of the adrenal glands and liver, at his daughter's home in Costa Mesa, California.


Gammon also boasts of other film and TV credits up his sleeve in a span of more than four decades. To name a few out of countless achievements, the actor starred in Silverado and Cold Mountain, and famously portrayed Don Johnson's father on Nash Bridges for five years.


If that wasn't enough, Gammon also earned himself several L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards for acting and directing, being a regular on the MET Theater. the actor's memorial service will also be held at the same theater this August.


Gammon is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Jane Kapusta, and their two daughters.
