Pictures beats Steve Carell's all-evil-and-funny animated movie 'Despicable Me'. The said 3D offering slipped to number 2 with an estimated $32 million.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage's new film 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' stayed at number 3 on its first box office week with estimated $17 million. Higher than Tom Cruise's 'Knight and Day', just to remind you, peace!'Inception' is written, produced and directed by Christopher Nolan. Development of Inception began roughly ten years before the film's actual release when Nolan wrote an 80-page treatment about dream-stealers, according to Wikipedia.
